Privacy Notice

1. Our privacy principles

Couranr's launch privacy rules are:

• collect what is adequate, relevant, and reasonably necessary;
• use personal information for disclosed and compatible purposes;
• do not sell personal information;
• do not sell precise geolocation information;
• make browser location optional before checkout;
• do not silently turn a browser coordinate into a saved customer address;
• keep payment-card details with the payment provider rather than storing full card numbers or security codes in Couranr;
• limit staff, shopper, and driver access to information needed for assigned work;
• retain transaction and legal evidence longer than transient browsing data;
• do not keep raw provider data merely because it might be useful later.

Couranr follows these principles even where a particular statutory privacy threshold does not yet apply to Couranr.

2. Information we may collect

Contact and identity information

Name, email address, telephone number, account identifier, and verified account or contact status.

Address and fulfillment information

Delivery address, shipping address when shipping is enabled, unit or building information, delivery instructions, standardized and validated address information needed to fulfill the order, and the serviceability result.

Order and transaction information

Cart contents, ordered products and quantities, prices, discounts, delivery and service charges, taxes, order status, replacement preferences and decisions, cancellations, returns, refunds, support history, and receipt and order history.

Payment-related information

Payments are processed through our payment provider. Couranr may receive and retain payment-provider customer and payment identifiers, transaction identifiers, payment status, amount, refund status, and limited card metadata such as brand and last four digits when the provider supplies it for customer support or fraud prevention.

Couranr does not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.

Location information

Before checkout, you may choose to allow your device or browser to provide location information so Couranr can estimate service context. Precise pre-checkout location is optional, and if you decline, Couranr provides a manual ZIP or address path.

At checkout, Couranr separately collects the delivery address you submit, because the address is necessary to fulfill the transaction.

Delivery evidence

Depending on the selected delivery method, we may process delivery PIN verification status, leave-at-door photo evidence, delivery attempt timestamps, delivery status, geofence and distance-status outcome, your delivery instructions, and a driver-reported exception reason.

Your delivery PIN is not exposed to the driver.

Device, security, and abuse-prevention information

Information reasonably necessary to secure Couranr, such as IP address, request and session identifiers, browser and device information, authentication events, rate-limit events, fraud and security indicators, and error and audit events.

We minimize or hash security identifiers when raw values are not necessary.

Support information

If you contact Couranr, we may collect the content of your request and information needed to resolve it.

AI shopping information

If you use the Couranr AI shopping assistant, we may process your shopping request, messages sent to the assistant, catalog and cart context needed to answer, tool results needed to perform the requested shopping task, and safety and quality logs reasonably necessary to operate the feature.

Do not enter passwords, full payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary highly sensitive information into the assistant.

3. How we collect information

We may receive information directly from you, from your device when you choose to enable location or use the site, from Couranr's own order and fulfillment systems, from payment, address, mapping, email, hosting, authentication, security, AI, or other processors used to provide the service, and from legitimate fraud and security signals.

4. Why we use information

To provide and secure the storefront; create or authenticate accounts; support guest checkout and secure guest tracking; validate addresses; determine serviceability; calculate available delivery windows; process payments and refunds; source, procure, pick, pack, deliver, or ship merchandise; request replacement decisions; communicate order status; prove delivery; respond to support issues; prevent fraud, abuse, and provider denial-of-wallet attacks; maintain accounting, tax, refund, and audit evidence; perform reconciliation; respond to product recalls and safety issues; comply with applicable law; improve product reliability and user experience; and provide AI shopping functionality when requested.

5. Browser location and precise geolocation

Couranr treats precise location as sensitive operational data. Pre-checkout location permission is optional.

When precise pre-checkout coordinates are used, Couranr uses them only long enough to determine the relevant service context, does not place raw coordinates in customer-visible URLs, does not silently save them as your delivery address, does not sell or offer them for sale, and does not retain them longer than reasonably needed when a less precise derived result is sufficient.

The exact delivery address you intentionally provide at checkout is separate transaction information and may be retained with the order as necessary.

6. Address validation and routing providers

Couranr may send the minimum address and location information needed to an address-validation, geocoding, or routing provider to determine serviceability, route feasibility, or delivery execution.

Couranr's current product policy does not permit a long-lived cross-request cache of raw routing-provider distance, duration, ETA, matrix, polyline, or raw route-response content unless a separately established contractual basis permits that exact use.

Couranr may retain Couranr-owned business outcomes such as the accepted delivery charge, the selected delivery window, the capacity reservation, the source-plan identifier, the profitability verdict, the policy version, and the fulfillment outcome.

7. Service providers and sharing

Couranr may share the minimum personal information needed with service providers performing hosting and application infrastructure; database, authentication, and storage; payment processing; address validation, mapping, and routing; email delivery; SMS if activated; shipping and carrier services if activated; AI processing; analytics and observability if activated; and fraud, security, and support tooling.

These providers process information for the services they provide to Couranr, subject to their agreements and applicable law.

Couranr may also disclose information at your direction; to comply with law, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request; to investigate fraud, security, or safety issues; to protect rights, safety, or property; and in connection with a lawful merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of the business, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

8. Sale and targeted advertising

Couranr does not sell personal information.

At launch, Couranr does not use personal information for third-party cross-site behavioral advertising.

If that business practice changes, Couranr must change this Privacy Notice and implement any legally required opt-out or consent controls before the new practice begins.

9. Children

Couranr Market is a general retail service and is not directed to children.

Couranr does not knowingly use a child's personal information in a way prohibited by applicable child-privacy law. If Couranr learns that information was collected from a child in violation of applicable law, Couranr will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise lawfully handle it.

10. Retention

Couranr retains information based on the purpose for which it is used, legal and accounting requirements, fraud and security needs, chargebacks and disputes, product safety, and legitimate operational needs.

Internal retention rules are documented separately and may include longer retention for completed orders, payment and refund evidence, tax records, policy acceptance, recall and safety evidence, and active disputes or legal holds.

Transient location and provider data is retained for a shorter period, or not durably stored at all when a derived Couranr outcome is sufficient.

Couranr does not promise deletion of records that law requires us to keep or that are reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

11. Security

Couranr uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information and service, including role-based access, server-side authorization, restricted provider credentials, audit controls, and security monitoring where applicable.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Privacy requests

Subject to applicable law and legitimate verification, you may ask Couranr to confirm whether Couranr processes your personal information, provide access to it, correct inaccurate information, delete eligible personal information, or provide eligible information in a portable format.

Where a statutory right applies, Couranr processes the request as required by that law.

As a matter of Couranr policy, we also make reasonable efforts to honor these requests even where Couranr has not yet crossed a statutory volume threshold — subject to fraud prevention, recordkeeping, legal holds, tax and accounting requirements, and other legitimate exceptions.

You do not need to create an account to make a privacy request.

Send requests to hello@couranrmarket.com with the subject "Privacy Request". Couranr may require reasonable verification before disclosing or deleting personal information.

13. Appeals

If applicable privacy law gives you a right to appeal Couranr's decision on a privacy request, reply to the decision with the subject "Privacy Appeal" and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.

14. Data incidents

Couranr maintains an internal incident-response process. If a security incident triggers a legal notice obligation, Couranr provides notice as required by applicable law.

15. Changes

Couranr may update this Privacy Notice prospectively.

Material changes receive a new version and effective date. Couranr does not treat a Privacy Notice as a substitute for affirmative consent where applicable law requires consent.
